Mission
To
enhance the lives of animals and their people by providing the highest
quality in-home pet sitting services available for cats, dogs, birds,
fish, guinea pigs and other animals. To strengthen the bond between
people and their animal companions by helping them understand each
other better through animal communication services.
As
a pet sitter I love having daily interaction with animals in their
homes and having the opportunity to provide loving, hands-on care
while their people are away. I'm honored to be the person that people
entrust their animal companions to while they are away.
I welcome
opportunities to work with people who love their animals and seek
help with communicating with their animal companions. I enjoy helping
people and animals understand each other better and to offer tools,
resources and information that help them address their particular
situations.
History
Pawsitively The Best Pet Sitting and Consultation Services was founded
in January 2003 by Ann Guenther. Ann has lived with and cared for
animals for most of her life. She was drawn to learning more about
animals and their impact on our lives after her beloved 18-year-old
cat Sam passed away. She began reading dozens of books on cat and
dog behavior, animal communication, and pet sitting. She met and
trained with experts in the animal care field including pet sitters,
animal communicators and animal behaviorists. She also volunteered
for two local animal shelters. She realized that working with animals
really was her heart's work, so she decided to follow her passion
and created a pet sitting and animal communication business.
Ann
has more than twenty years of experience caring for animals, first
for her own animal companions and those of friends and neighbors,
and now for her clients. She also has years of experience communicating
with a wide variety of animals, including cats, dogs, birds, horses,
fish, and animals living in zoos and in the wild.
Pawsitively The Best was recognized in the very first
"Spotlight on Business" by the Greater Newcastle Chamber
of Commerce in the Newcastle News.

About
Ann Guenther
I love animals! They have always been an important part of my life.
Growing up, my first animal companions were my dog Midnight, my
cat Patches, and my bird Rainbow. They were my first teachers of
how to care for and how to interact with animals. I continue to
learn much from my current cats, Abby and Theo, and from my clients
- animal and human.
Working
with people has also been a primary focus in my life. I worked as
a social services manager for 18 years, including eight years in
social service agencies managing programs for children, families
and older adults; and ten years in local governments, researching
and writing social policy and managing social service contracts.
I have a Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) from Bethel College in
Minnesota, and a Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the University
of Washington. After 18 years of working in social work and government,
I decided to pursue my passion of working with animals and their
people.
